"New Moon" To Be Directed By a Man!
By Mr. M
While Twilight had many good moments, I thought its cast was the thing that really held it together. Not only were they shockingly gorgeous (Peter Facinelli...) but also talented. Director Catherine Hardwicke was the weakest link, silly-fying what could have been some intense moments like Edward trying to suck James's venom out of Bella. I mean, come on, it was funny. Now that Catherine Hardwicke opted out of the sequel (read: was fired) the new director has been announced: Chris Weitz. He made American Pie, About a Boy, The Golden Compass among others. I personally think he is a good choice since he knows special effects (though flawed, TGC was a visual delight) and he also knows how to make teen angst not so...teen angst.
Thanks to this piece of news, I'm officially excited for New Moon. How about you?

looking forward to it. Wish they could bring them out closer to each other then they are planning
I hate Twilight and I hear New Moon is the one where whiny Bella jumps off a cliff to hear Edward's voice, making her about the weakest unintentional Mary Sue in all of commercial fiction, so I don't think I'll see New Moon.
If I did, it would be for the LOLz.
(PS. There's another one of these mini-sites?!)
I may consider watching this. I haven't watched Twilight since I heard it sucked.
Twillight was horrible beyond words.
But I am team jacob so I guess i'm obligated to see it
even if it ruins the book for me.whatever.
i`m excited!! i felt that catherine hardwick directed twilight all wrong. the whole film had so many awkward angles, and she totally butchered the meadow scene, which was one of the biggest turning points in the twilight novel! there was so much more that could`ve been done with the twilight movie to make it: 1) more visually satisfying and 2) truer to the book. the movie also should`ve shown more build up of chemistry between bella and edward. don`t get me wrong, the chemistry was GREAT between kristen and rob, but the movie could`ve shown so much more between them.
oh, and i`m not a huge fan of 'bella`s lullaby' by carter burwell either. i still think they should`ve chosen 'river flows in you' by yiruma instead. 'river flows in you' is more poignantly sweet and heartbreaking.
also, peter facinelli was TOTALLY hot as carlisle!! *drools*
G0 TEAM EDWARD!
team edward
love is always enough.
i hate twilight.
i refuse to read it or watcht the movie, especially since the guy who plays edward is seriously the ugliest actor i've ever seen.
if people didn't hype the books up so much, i might have finished reading the first one... when i started to read it, i thought it was boring as hell and way too long for me. and it wasn't published yet, so i thought it would never make it. ugh. ):
Yay!
i just hope he does better directing than twilight's. that movie was a joke. it definitely did no justice to the book.
I
FUCKINGHATETWILIGHT!WTF, America.I wish people would realize that those books are pieces of shite.
TWILIGHT IZ SO FLIPPING AMAZZZING AND YES THEY CUT A LOT OUT FROM THE BOOK AND I WAS VERY VERY SAD ABOUT THAT AND SO WERE MY FRIENDS BUT IT WAS STILL A GOOD MOVIE
TEAM JACOB/EDWARD ALL THE WAY
ROFL
we'll see
Wow, so many anti-Twilighters here I feel so at home.
Yes, Twilight the movie sucked!! For all the gushings and ravings it garnered, one would've thought the movie would at least be coherent enough for viewers to sit through. The actings and the directing are, in one word - BLEH. I think I'll watch New Moon only when the DVD comes out.
Antitwilight FTW.
I MST this crap.
I find it highly amusing that the twilight director was fired.
Shows how loyal twitards are.
I'll go see the movie, just to see if I can get kicked out of another twilight movie. That should provide epic lulz.
@Rawrdom@xanga - she wasn't fired by the fans. the other people on the crew including writers, etc, wanted the film to be more 'hollywood' as in they wanted it to include more edward.
she however, wanted to stick to the book.
they fired her. :)
that being said, I /liked/ twilight, back when there were no fans, and when the book came out and it was a reaally small fan group - like 2 years ago? the fanbase & movies have totally killed it for me and i really don't enjoy it at all anymore.
