My Newest Obsession: Dexter

In June 2008, I went through a major Six Feet Under craze. I watched the first three seasons but couldn't finish the series becaue Blockbuster didn't carry them. SFU led me to the greatness that is Michael C. Hall. He is a tremendously good actor and it wasn't until I recognized him on the cover of Dexter that the show caught my eye.Crime shows are not my thing. You know, those "police procedurals" as they're known, where a murder happens and then quirky or sarcastive detectives have to figure out who the killer is. But, Dexter is no ordinary crime show. Hall plays Dexter Morgan, a blood analyst whose adoptive father recognized his sociopathic tendencies upon adoption. In the present, he is a serial killer but he only kills criminals who have escaped conviction or punishment. He calls it "taking out the garbage."
The show features some colorful supporting characters played by also terrific actors, such as Dexter's equally troubled girlfriend, his sister who has to prove herself as a homicide cop, a tough-as-nails female lieutenant and another cop who is suspicious of Dexter. The show is constantly surprising and gruesome but with a heart.
I recommend you check it out. The first two seasons are on DVD, and the third season just ended so you can watch it online or wait for the DVD.

I have never even heard of the television programme Dexter.
First of all, Six Feet Under is my favorite TV show of all time.
Dexter is a great show. I love it. But when I first started watching, I felt kind of weird about it, because I was rooting for the serial killer. Vigilante serial killer, yes. But still, I would sit there and wonder, "What kind of person am I?"
Michael C. Hall is really great--In 6FU, it took a while for David to grow on me, but that was due to Hall's acting.
I LOVE Dexter. I live in the Netherlands but that sucks because I don't see Dexter anywhere but my father downloaded the first season and omg I love it and I really want to see the 2nd season!
I especially like it because you don't know who the killer is, and it takes a few episoded before you know it so it's way more fun than CSI or something.
That show is fantastic.
I've never watched it....or heard of it.
A friend introduced me to Dexter this past fall...September, maybe. I'm
all caught up with the 3 seasons after watching them all online.

i freaking love Dexter. i watched the first two seasons but've completely missed the third because i don't have showtime anymore. my brother and dad keep me updated on what's happening, though. i'm renting season 3 when it comes out on dvd.
I don't know anyone who's seen it and doesn't love it. The fact that the show is based around a serial killer and makes him likeable is a testament to the great writing on the show and Michael C. Hall.
