Love it, hate it, say whatcha want about it . . . If U Seek Amy will be hitting airwaves soon. Don't get the joke? Say the title aloud.
My question is, how are they going to get away with playing that song on the radio? I remember the Black Eyed Peas and Maroon 5 both being censored for radio play a few years ago:
-"Let's Get Retarded" morphed into the middle school gym anthem "Let's Get It Started"
-"Don't Phunk with My Heart" was horribly edited and turned into "don't...mess...with my heart?"
-"This Love"'s phrase "keep her coming every night" was turned into "keep her skdfjosdpfiing every night"
Can you think of any other hilarious radio censorship?
Also, seriously, how are they going to get away with having this song on the radio?

I don't get the joke. What is it?
I think its fantastic.
And really, the radio censorship is just silly because everyone knows what they're really saying and the edits just sound bad. We sing the right words anyway...
@girl_lost_in_the_dark@xanga -
"All the girls want to If you seek Amy"
"All the girls want to f-u-c-k me"
you have to say it effff- u- see- kay- me
its pretty clever, i didn't get it at first either, had to listen to the song a few times.
@girl_lost_in_the_dark@xanga - its supposed to sound like you're spelling out "f**k me"
I'm not gonna lie, I like that song.
I havn't heard the song yet, but now I'll have to find it on iTunes! grrrrr
@laurenmaureen@xanga - OHHH! I get it now. LOL
Ugh, that's disgusting. -_-
I didn't get it at first then my sister caught on and it was a total "I GET IT!!! :DDDDD" moment for me. >.< Like the song though. Horrendously catchy.
I really like the song xD My friend told me about it and I got it on the first listen! Seriously, If U Seek Amy. I don't see anything wrong ther 0
. Besides, changing it would make people start to ask why they changed it, and it would make more controversy and at the end, more people would know about it.
It's just stupid.
I think she'll be able to get away with it... she is Britney.Â
wow i feel like an idiot... it took me about 50 times of saying it out loud before i finally got it. le sigh.
its saying FUCK ME. for those who STILL dont get it haha. and i love radio sensors they make my life. the song paper planes has like gun shots in it and on the radio they made it sound like some kind of beam from a spaceship or something.
"oops I did it again" was censored on some radio stations.
"I'm not. that. innocent." was completely wiped off to be replaced with just the accent notes of the song.
e.g.
"oops you think I'm in love/ that I'm sent from a-bo-o-o-o-o-ove....."
BLAT BLAT BLA-TA-BLAT.
also don't forget Gwen Stefani's "Holler back". hilarious. "that's my sih... that's my shuw that's my sh(*& that's my sh^%v"
In 2003 or 2004, the song "F*ck It" by Eamon hit the airwaves. I liked the original song - not for its excessive profanity, but because it contained some substance. I don't know why they played this song on the radio, as they censored all the vulgar words AND suggestive phrases. So in the end, you just listen to a song with many obvious lyrical gaps and that really bugged me!
Compared to the original (or, should I say, "dirty") version, the censored version was total crap. If stations are gonna play a suggestive song, DON'T CENSOR IT. It'll end up sounding funny. Or else, just don't air the song at all.
More movie ones that radio ones-Don't get the joke.. :/
the only radio edit i thought was better than the original was for London Bridges by Fergie "oh, snap" was way better/cuter than "oh, sh**"
ummm "wait till you see my dick" by the yin yang twins was just "wait till you see my..." and the line "i'ma beat that pussy up" changed to "you can never get enough"...kinda lame. in Pink's "get the party started" there's a line that goes "i'll be burnin rubber you'll be kissin my ass" and on the radio it's "i'll be burnin rubber you'll be *tires screeching sound*" that makes no sense.
there's no way that britney can get away with it. i mean, if you can't say "don't funk with my heart" then you definitely can't spell fuck. sorry brit-brit. go eat some cheese grits and brainstorm how to cover that lil joke up.
In Rockstar by Nickelback, I've heard a version where instead of "dress my ass in the lastest fashions" it was "dress my bus" XD, but the station I listen to only played that version like a couple of times. Now they usually just play it uncensored. And most people don't understand If You Seek Amy. It took me forever to figure it out. XD
Wow, I didn't get it at first.
There's a radio station where I used to live in Colorado that censors more out of "What It's Like" by Everlast. They censor the word "drugs" and a few other things most other stations don't.
I do like the edited version of Rehab's "Bartender Song", though. The way they censored it sounds cool to me.
@kaitlyn_in_wonderland@xanga - around here it still sounds like guns. when it comes on when i'm driving i always hold up my hand and pretend to shoot! hahaha
but my boyfriend was like "what the fuck is this??? how can they let kids listen to this?!?!?!"
gun sounds are catchy, i guess. it's the only part of the song i like. haha
LOL if u seek amy LMAO clever =P
I get it now, I was confused at first lol! I really like the song though.
not her best single but very clever title
