  • Is Being A Celeb Actually A Full-Time Job?

    If you're a celeb not currently working on a project, your life is pretty busy, right? You have to go get your nails done and go on photo shoots or whatever, dodge paparazzi on your way to lunch (salad only, please, and dressing on the side) and work out for a while. Sigh.

    Do you think being a celebrity would be a full-time job?

    Yes, because you're constantly having to uphold an image even if it's not really you. I would consider that work.

    Yes.  You are constantly being photographed and judged whether you want to be or not.

    @wherethefishlives@xanga - that's a really good point . . . and one i hadn't thought of.

    Depending on whether or not the celebrity is on the A-list or not makes it a full time job. Britney, of course, and others in her like definitely have a full time job of being a celebrity. Lesser known stars have more free time, and it really depends on whether they are making new projects or not.

    it is. sometimes you're working more than 40 hours per week.

    some things about the job are easy (shopping while ppl snap photos of you) while other are not (losing the battle against aging)

    Nope.  Celebrities always like to make it sound like they work hard, but they really don't.  Life's a breeze for them, but if they told you that, they know we'd hate them.

    yes. celebrities are almost 100% fake. they have their whole lives planned out for them and almost never get to just be themselves. whether they are just going out to eat with friends, or having an interview with a magazine, their conversations with the press are already planned out.

    Yes.
    If you do something "normal" or wear something "weird" it will most likely be in a tabloid mag. like those articles "stars are people just like us" [?] or "fashion cops or police or something".

    personally i think that being followed around by creepy guys taking my picture would probably take a toll and be pretty hard and constantly thinking how their everyday actions will affect their career could get pretty tough

    I think it depends on the Celebrity. Artists I believe have it the hardest and work a lot more than actors would because when they have an album coming up or a project they are constantly on the go. I remember watching an interview with Beyonce the other day and within a week or two she had travelled to 3 different continents and numerous cities to perform her singles.
    They work for at least a year and then sometimes taking a month or two of proper breaks and even then they might still be in the studio.
    Actors have it hard as well because sometimes it takes a year to actually film a movie but they have more flexible schedules and a lot more down time than artists do.
    Most Celebrities are hard working people just like us and because their life appears so glamorous doesn't mean that it is. They have to deal with a lot of shit in the public eye through battling personal problems to dealing with the paps. We're all hard working people anyways for most of them it is just like any other job.
