  • What's the Best Skit from Saturday Night Live?

    By Miss T

I was born more than a decade after 1975 (when Saturday Night live debuted) so I have not yet come to appreciate the older episodes, but I can definitely list my top 5 favorite SNL moments. Almost all of them are recent, but hey, I can't help but love the current material:

Runner Up: Lindsay Lohan as a developed Hermoine Granger. The juvenile breast jokes, the crappy British accents, and Rachel Dratch as Harry Potter provide quality entertainment!

    5.  It's a tie between Brian Fellow's Safari Planet (I tell you, Tracy Morgan with his little hat and lip gloss is a gem. A GEM) and The Lawrence Welk Show - (Kristen Wiig is one of the best things that has ever happened to SNL and this, my friends, is evidence. When she whipped around and saluted the audience, I just about died.)

    4. Di** in a Box - Sure, J*zz in My Pants is the new cool thing but this will forever remain a classic with its sexy, slow, smooth, and perverse elements. Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg are this generation's K-Ci and JoJo. Case closed. Holla.

    3. President Bush's Endorsement of McCain and Palin: A handful of SNL greats (Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Darrell Hammond) in one room committed to political impersonations and political sarcasm. "Doin' a little shoppin'."  "George Bush always finds his man save for one huge exception." "When you think of John McCain, think of George W. Bush."...all the while the fictional McCain looks highly depressed and defeated the more fictional Dubya goes on with his "endorsement". Gotta love it.

    2. Palin Rap - Amy Poehler had my immigrant mother laughing so hard she couldn't breathe. A pregnant woman with as much hood appeal as the late Tupac is just too much. The Eskimos and Tom Palin cameo were definitely the spicy toppings to this delicious Palin rap. The only thing that kept this from becoming number one on my list was Sarah Palin raising the roof.

    1. Natalie Portman Rap - When I saw this I immediately understood why Natalie Portman is considered a top-notch actress. Her commitment to the rap is breathtaking and commendable. Every time I watch this rap, I can't suppress giggles. Everything about it is pure gold: Natalie's awesome flow, her serious and extreme rage, Andy Samberg randomly dressed up as a Viking, the profane and offensive lyrics ("Damn, Natalie, you a crazy chick/Yo shut the f$%^ up and suck my d^&k!").  The whole time I was watching this, I was both amused and frightened. All I know is Natalie is the most hardcore gangsta I have ever seen in my life. (Yeah, Snoop, in your face!)

Do you catch SNL often on Saturday nights or online? Do you find their shows funny? What are your favorite/most memorable skits?
