Canceled Too Early: Shows You Wish Lasted Longer
By Mr. M
Everyone knows that good tv is not long-lasting tv. Which is why The Bachelor is still on but Pushing Daisies got the axe after a nine-episode 1st season and a 13-episode second one. Hell, that's a full season of crap like The Big Bang Theory.
A show that I sometimes wish was still on is Arrested Development. I miss its zany, documentary-style format, its hilarious cast and, most of all, its background jokes. But low ratings killed it and now that show's memory is kept alive by a folder in the My Videos section on my laptop.
One show I'm glad ended after a short run is Deadwood, the HBO series about the territory in South Dakota in the 1800s. The show was good while it lasted but after a while its strong profanity and high politics got to be too much to handle.
What are shows that you wished lasted longer? Also, which shows do you want to be canceled?

SUMMERLAND!
AMEN to Summerland ^
I kinda liked New Amsterdam. That didn't last long at ALL though =/
Wonderfalls and Point Pleasant.
Firefly! they should have kept that going, it was so good.
There should be only 1 or 2 lawyer or police investigation shows, not 876238746726354. Only a couple of the good ones should stay and not be cancelled. I personally don't watch them though. I want The Riches to come back.
I really liked the show Tru Calling. It's pretty old tho. I loved Psuhing Daisies too. Cute as all hell. What the heck is wrong with America?
too much reality Tv
D:<
Justice
It was another lawyer show, but it was a GOOD lawyer show. It's no Practice (which I was so sad to see go), but still, it was great! It went through the evidence, the trial, and the ruling. Then at the end of the show, they'd show you what really happened.
Too bad it didn't make it through the first season
I agree; I miss Pushing Daisies.
: (
Close to Home with Jennifer Finnigan, and Tru Calling with Elisha Somethingorother. Two really awesome shows. Also Reba- it had a great run, so I can't complain much about it, but I felt like it ended a bit too early.
@midgetmachine@xanga - YES!
Firefly, best tv show ever.
when did that happen?! i had no idea pushing daisies was canceled...i never got a chance to watch it.
arrested development and carnivale are my picks.
Firefly - Every now and then I watch the boxset and movie and lament the fact that the airing schedule was messed up and they decided to cancel it. It makes no sense. It had lots of potential, it garnered lots of fans. One of the best sci fi shows of recent years and it got shot down before it had a chance to prove itself.
Seeing as I'm on the scifi thinking, I still wish SG-1 was going, though ten years was good enough. Sorry to say I won't miss Atlantis in quite the same way, the last season was a sham, I hope the movie proves it's worth.
Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, Arrested Development, Pushing Daisies, Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, basically any show I've ever liked....
I miss Moonlight : (
@Goonie - YES! SG-1 had a nice long run and i missed oneill desperately after he left. atlantis was fun but yea, it wasn't the same and the last season was a little... flaky. i watched it all though. and im sad that this is battlestar's last season. i am going to miss it so much.
O'Grady, most definitely! They only made 2 seasons, and they don't even play those on TV anymore.
And I keep seeing random things talking about the possibility of an Arrested Development movie. So hoping that one is true, too!
FIREFLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Home Movies was definitely cut WAY too short. That was probably the funniest and smartest show I've seen in a long time, with some really talented voice actors- and you felt really connected to the characters. I've only seen an episode or two of Freaks and Geeks, but what I saw I loved and I know that was cut too short as well.
Daria, MST3K, The Adventures of Pete and Pete and Invader Zim all had a decent running but shouldn't have ended :P
I loved Related which never even got to finish it's first season. Also I liked The Bedford Diaries and The Swan. I also think that Seinfeld should've lasted longer or ended differently.
I wish they would get rid of The Hills.
Summerland. <3
Moonlight, Pushing Daisies and Invader Zim FTW
<333
@midgetmachine@xanga - Thankfully the new SG1 movie is supposed to be O'Neill focused. Unfourtunately it won't air until late this year or the beginning of the next.
Atlantis redeemed itself a little in the final episodes, but the season as a whole seemed a little lost and rehashed a lot of the SG1 storylines and ideas.
After Battlestar finishes it seems there won't be anything good sci fi wise to watch. Until Sanctuary comes back later in the year and the new Stargate Universe takes off in the autumn.
Eli Stone!
I never watched it while it was on TV (1999), but we watched it in Psychology class: Freaks and Geeks. It only lasted one season on ABC/Fox Family, but it was damn good. Smart humor, and a good message, for the most part. It also jump-started the careers of Seth Rogen, and Jason Segel, not to mention James Franco.
I loved watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Funny, smart, and interesting I never got bored with that show and looked forward to it every week. I miss that show so badly.
