Jon and Kate Plus 8 vs. Twins Twins & Sextuplets

I'm a hardcore Jon and Kate Plus 8 fan. I watch all the Gosselin family interviews and  precious episodes. I'm laugh and cry with them. I grow irritated when people claim that the parents are exploiting their wee ones for profit (guess what? eight kids can be expensive!) No, I'm not a creepy child obsessor but I appreciate their family for being real and efficient. The kids are all adorable too so the cuteness factor is a big thing in viewing their reality show. Needless to say, I was confused as to why the Hayes family had to spring up out of nowhere with "Twins Twins & Sextuplets."

However, after watching an episode of "Twins Twins & Sextuplets" I liked it. The kids are cute and the Hayes family is pretty wholesome and good-natured. Just like the Gosselins, they are all busy busy busy.

So here are SIX (ahahha) discoveries I've made:

    1. Hayes family definitely has more work cut out for them: They have two more kids (a total of 12 family members), THREE sets of multiples, and a child (Rebecca) who has cerebal palsy and is confined to a wheelchair .

    2. Kate Gosselin is definitely more organized that Elizabeth Hayes but Elizabeth Hayes seems more patient.

    3. Eric Hayes is more enthusiastic and All-American Dad than Jon Gosselin. (Hence why Eric is a police officer and Jon a former computer technician/programmer.)

    4. The Hayes family also SEEMS less stressed out than the Gosselin family but I think this is largely due to Kate Gosselin's obsession with cleanliness and "no mud, no gum" sorta rules.

    5. The Gosselin's have the most outrageous child (older sister Mady) and the Hayes have the most adorable child (Rebecca) whose deteriorating condition breaks your heart.

    6. Although both families are cute as a button, the Gosselins have the cuter lot. I don't know what it is...probably the fact that they are mixed? Half Korean (or "Ajan" as the little ones say) plus Half Caucasian (throw a dart of Hawaiian in there for good measure ) multiplied by eight equates to a whole lot of "coo's" and "aww's." I also feel more inclined to say the Gosselins because they appeared on the show as tots and viewers have seen them grown. Alexis, Hannah, Collin, Aaden, Leah, and Joel (don't forget older twins Mady and Cara) are just too delightfully cute and loud for words. Still, gotta love all multiples!

Overall, both families deal with meltdowns, extremely adorable moments, and a whole lot of expenses and time management. I praise Jon and Kate and Eric and Elizabeth as opposed to criticizing them for child exploitation. I don't think they are exploiting their children. Exploiting is a negative word and both families just want their kids to be well taken of in life. I highly recommend BOTH these shows but if you have time for one I would say catch up on the Gosselins first!

Do you follow Jon and Kate Plus 8 or Twins, Twins, & Sextuplets? Do you think the Gosselins and the Hayes are good parents? It's hard to pick favorites when you want to be fair to both families, but if you had to pick which one would you choose?
