What Movie Defines Our Generation?
Every generation has that one movie that defines it. The 1980s has The Breakfast Club, the 1970s has Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the 1960s has Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet.
But what about our generation? I've been thinking a lot about this. I mean there has to be one movie that everyone has seen and loved. There has to be a movie that we can all relate to and will be able to relate to for years to come. My mom still talks about the Zeffirelli Romeo and Juliet.
So here are the picks that I made with some help from my friends: American Pie, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, Titanic, Fight Club, Superbad.
What's your pick for the one movie that defines our generation? Or do you think it's too early to make such a claim?

by our generation, do you mean the 90's then? Since the last decade you listed was the 80s. How do we define our generation? By the decade we were teenagers in? By the decade we grew up in? I was a teen in the late 90s early 00s. I would say Titanic was definitely the biggest epic movie during this era that just aboue everyone's seen. Superbad definitely doesn't make the cut. Too recent. Not enough people have seen it. American pie and fight club...not everyone necesssarily saw those either. Not sure they're exactly generation defining...
Hmm...
Probably a really crappy one.
I'd say Fight Club !
But I also like Titanic :)
JUNO!! Haha!
Well I mean, pregnancy rate in teens has gone up since the last few decades... and well, it sort of does say a lot about our generation!
@x_vesper@xanga - mais oui, i completely second that :P
@x_vesper@xanga - Juno bro!
titanic and american pie for the 90's ... but probably superbad for the 2000's
Superbad or american pie
Fight Club ! we're all consumers.
american pie
@jesusmoshes2@xanga - Yep, I was a teen during the mid 90s- early 00s,too.
I'd say American Pie, then.
Though I really, really liked (and still do) Empire Records. :)
Trainspotting, if it's the 90s.
BOYS DONT CRY
I never really enjoyed movies from my generation, I supposed it's my generation, I have no idea. Haha But I love the 80s/90s movies.
@x_vesper@xanga - yeah! hahaha =D
