  • Miley Cyrus Wears a Green Bra? Why I Don't Care Anymore

    Really? She does? I don't care.

    Here are 10 reasons why I care just enough to list reasons why I don't care anymore:

    1. Normal school girl by day, vampire slayer by night is so much more legit. Case closed.

    2. Her raspy voice was once appealing but not when she's mocking other Disney stars. Get over yourself.

    3. Her music is starting to annoy me. True, I did (and still do) like "Best of Both Worlds" and "Rockstar."However, her other songs make me think of a banshee.

    4. She split up from Nick Jonas and acted as though their teen pop star love was real. Uhh remember Britney and Justin? Jennifer Love Hewitt and Carson Daly? yup.

    5. A GREEN bra? Really? Black/pink is the new green when it comes to bras. Get with it.

    6. She got so much attention for showing off her back during a Vanity Fair photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz. She played the whole "I'm so innocent and a nice Christian girl --I didn't know that my underage and "The Best Little Whorehouse" look would offend people." Mmmhmm.

    7. She does dumb, pointless things like laughing crazily over the fact that she has a "boyfriend" name Justin GASTON (ahahaha like from Beauty and the Beast?). Watch this Ellen clip and tell me if you have ever witnessed a more pathetic attempt to appear "natural."

    8. She thinks she's a clever rock star. All those "rock star" moves. Guess what? You're not a rock star. Here is a rock star. You're a bubblegum pop star. A Disney pop star at that. She's too young to understand what "rock" means. Also, it's kinda lame to act with your "famous for his mullet" dad. (This is a classic example of my  my former middle school "mom, don't talk to me in front of my friends!" attitude.)

    9. She's cute. I know a lot of haters out there think she's fugly but honestly she's a cute teenager. I'm not hating on her looks. Still, she's starting to fade, even at so young an age. All that garish makeup isn't helping. Someone better tell her red lipstick is pretty much reserved for Marilyn Monroe and Dita Von Teese.

    10. Although I think the worldwide reactions to the "racist" photo plastered above are a bit absurd, this child honestly thinks she can get away with murder. Turns out, she can't. Muhahha.

    Overall, I'm not a Miley Cyrus hater. She seems fun and giggly, like most teenagers but she's unfortunately  everywhere. I can't take it anymore. Each time I log on to my computer I just see her face and headlines alarming everyone about her scandalish antics. Crazy. She's not the biggest star out there so she needs to chill. Also, I know it sucks for celebrities these days, but Miley should learn her lesson that pictures ARE going to leak out, and if she doesn't want any backlash she should just consider her actions more carefully.

    That is all.

    So what do you guys make of this "racist" incident? How is it racist? Are you a Miley Cyrus fan? What do you make of her the public's criticisms of her? What do you think about her negative portrayal in the media? Is it justified?

    we used to do that all the time when I was a child....we weren't called racist.

    Children aren't even allowed to sit Indian style anymore...it has been renamed crisscross applesauce.

    I still do that to my eyes and I'm 21...i can also stick my tongue out and touch my nose...am i gonna be stoned to death? no. leave the girl alone. she's 16. who caaaaaaaaares. if you wanna pick on a celeb....lindsay lohan is prolly the best one to pick at.

    Yeah, I'm not a fan... I used to be, but she started getting on my nerves because I don't think she can act.  Her songs are okay.  I like 7 Things.  That's pretty much it.  I do think she hates on Selena Gomez, though, and that makes me like her even less than I had before.  I also feel like she's trying too hard, acting "too mature," failing to be nonchalant, that kind of stuff.  She is cute, though.  I'm sure she's a sweet girl, but sometimes, Miley shirts, pants, etc... bother me to no end.

    What about this photo implies that she hates Asians?
    Nothing.
    Racist means hating or not tolerating a particular race.
    She's just being stereotypical.
    And yes, we're all guilty of it.
    People make parodies of them all the time (MadTV, for example). Why don't people get mad at that?

    I totally agree with what you said in #8 about her not being a rock star!!! I've been saying that since i 1st heard her! I'm a total rocker chick and i cannot stand it when she says that she does rock music! I'd just love to introduce her to my music...  Give her a good dose of Audio Adrenaline!! And, of course, As I Lay Dying!


    Another thing I cannot stand about her is the fact that dances and dresses all suggestively and still calls herself a Christian. I mean i know that i have NO right what-so-ever to judge her, but it just makes me sick to see someone talk about their faith and everything and then go and do things like she does. I'll definitely be praying for her.

    I never cared about Miley Cyrus. I can't even write a post like this about her, because I don't know much about her besides the fact that she's waaaaay overhyped.

    EDIT: I looked up the "racist" incident, and for some reason I feel like it was a misunderstanding and not her actually mocking Asians. I wasn't there when the picture was taken of course, so I don't know. It seems to me that the people that were offended overreacted towards the situation. One organization is even trying to sue her for $4B? Seriously? That's too much. When I first saw the above photo, racism didn't even come to mind, and I'm half-Asian. I don't like Miley Cyrus but I'm also not sure if she meant to offend anyone. Just a stupid move, I guess.

    I'm asian, I'm chinky, and I find that photo offensive. Not only does it bring back unpleasant memories, but it may also encourage other kids who look up to her to justify that "it's okay to stereotypically make fun of an asian kid." Which is not only not funny, but it's also not cool and definately not okay. Now some of you may not care, or talk about it as a fun little kid thing (and trust me, that asian kid that you were probably making fun of? He/she has probably never forgotten it), but do try to put yourself in my shoes, or at least imagine a similar offensive thing happening to you, and maybe you'll have a little more sensitivity when it comes to conflicts about race and stereotypes.

    Miley Cyrus aka. Hannah Montana is a total fake. She's like most teen girls who will never ever come back down to reality. She thinks she's the bestest "rockstar" in the whole entire world when she can just barely make the real music charts. Mostly little girls listen to her lame music because their to young to understand good music. As for the christian girl part, she'll end up in porn videos in about 2.2 seconds. Just watch: "Teen Rockstar Miley Cyrus XXX" written all over the internet.

    I really don't think that she had the intentions of mocking Asians.  As you can see, she's tugging on her entire face, and not just her eyes.


    And I don't know why people are so quick to jump on this chick's case. I love how ever since the VF shoot, more pictures started "leaking."


    The only thing that urks me is that she needs to WEAR A HELMET when she rides her bike. She could get hurt and she's sending out a message that it's allright not to.

    I'm sure that Miley Cyrus only got in trouble for that because she is famous. Tons of people still pull at their eyes and they don't that much trouble. I don't like Miley Cyrus & I never have, but people need to stop stressing about her getting famous on stupid things, because talking about it is just getting her more famous. Like they say: There is no such thing as bad publicity.

    And about the 'racist' thing...it's ridiculous. Part of me almost feels sorry for Miley simply because I know most of my friends and I did the same thing when we were younger. We just didn't have the concern about the media going nuts over it.

    I'm indifferent about Miley on the whole, however. Just not really my scene.
