  • Teen Stars Who Might Make It

There seems to be a lot of Disney-hating going on in the pop culture world. It's become trendy to call Vanessa Hudgens a slut or to accuse Disney of denying Zac Efron his homo-ness. And while I sometimes do join in on hating, I'm not going to discredit the few teen stars (Disney or otherwise) who are actually talented and might make something of themselves in the future. In my opinion, these teen stars are here to stay:

Teen Stars Who Might Make It Demi Lovato

I first encountered this neo-rocker chick while seeing her "La La Land" video while watching Wizards of Waverly Place (the only Disney show I watch). After becoming obsessed with that song, I downloaded the other 10 songs from her debut album Don't Forget. And it's fantastic! She doesn't try to be "dark" or "deep." She is just rocking out to some awesome teen pop music. The best thing is that she co-wrote most of the songs and the jewel of the album is the song she wrote all by herself, "Trainwreck." I think Ms. Lovato has a chance of leaving her mark on the music scene. And I think she's gorgeous.

Teen Stars Who Might Make ItAshley Tisdale

In the HSM series, Ashley plays the ambitious Sharpay and she just wins points for being the only not-onbnoxiously cheerful-girl. Sharpay is a go-getter and I can appreciate that. Ashley herself has a reak knack for comedy with a voice to match. I definitely hope that she gets an even bigger break than the HSM franchise.

Teen Stars Who Might Make ItLucas Grabeel

Of the males in HSM, Lucas Grabeel was definitely the most talented. He was a major triple threat: stellar dancer, great singer, good actor. And he was in Milk for which he gets 10 extra points. And you know he had the greatest fashion in HSM and by that I mean he took a lot of chances--and pulled them off.

Teen Stars Who Might Make ItDakota Fanning

She used to be one of the best child actors and now she is one promising teenaged actress. She rocked the house in The Secret Life of Bees with a sensitive, mature and nuanced performance. And she was in that weird sci-fi thriller Push but I can appreciate the desire to try something new and break out of the childish image she has. And she was absolutely fabulous in Coraline.

Who are some teen stars with actual talent?
