Miss SAfter being forced to read Dan Brown's
Deception Point for one of my college courses (the book looked like it was 600 pages long), I began to read and found I could not put the book down. His writing kept me on edge the entire time and even though the book looked like it would take an eternity to read, I breezed right through it. Keeping this in mind, I decided to purchase his other book
Angels & Demons to read on my trip to England.
As I began to read, I was blown away by how boring and confusing the beginning turned out to be. I read about ten pages and could not read anymore. When I heard the movie was coming out, I was afraid the movie would be just as dry.
Keeping an open mind, I went to see it the other day with my mom and I absolutely loved it - beginning to end, it was amazing! I also was unable to predict the ending, which was a definite plus! The storyline was great and kept you guessing the entire time. The end really took me by surprise, and even though the movie was about two and a half hours long, it didn't seem like it at all.
For those who have read the book and seen the movie, which do you prefer, the book or the movie?
For those who've only seen the movie, what did you think?

Haven't seen the movie, reading the book right now. I'm still at the beginning (like chapter 9 or so), and I don't think it's boring. I look forward to reading the rest of it.
I heard the movie wasn't as good, so I might not see it. Or maybe I will, who knows. But not till after I'm done reading the book.
I've only read the book. I'm scared that the movie will be a disappointment.
I prefer the book.
The movie makes Dan Brown seem like a fool.
I wanted to read the book before seeing it, but I'm not sure I could get through it...I might still try.
The movie was INCREDIBLE, though!
I haven't read the book, but I just finished watching the movie! I agree though, the ending was a total surprise! it always kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved it!
The book will always win hands down, the da vinci code film wasnt a patch on the book. Although angels and demons was a geat book dan brown has better ones
Movies that keep you guessing are the best because you WANT to see every second of it...
I like the book a lot. Usually the movie version cut out lots of details from the storyline. Hoping the movie would be just as good!
Booook.
preferred the book...movie left out a lot of details...only liked the helicopter part better in the movie...the book part (helicopter) was not believeable...
I really liked the book. I honestly thought it was SO much better than The Da Vinci Code. I'm trying to avoid the movie as much as I can but I know my curiosity will get the best of me soon.
Definitely the book was better! I couldn't put it down!!
The movie wasn't so good because I knew what was going to happen!
The book, easily.
The movie was completely different, filled with blatant unnecessary changes. The worst part was, I thought these changes made the movie even worse. Give the book another chance, it really picks up after the slow beginning.
Just came back from Angels and demons movie and am mighty dissappointed. The changes made in the movie took the essence of the story. and what do you mean by chanin half of the characters??
Wonder what the director was thinkingg. I think they should read the book first and then decide on the script not the other way round.
For all those content with the movie please read the book the story is much much better. The movie is more like an ripped off advertisement.

Ladies may i suggest readin the book. If you thouht the endin was INCREDIBLE I'll ive you a hint . . . . the climax was cut short by like 20 pages. Paes you wouldn't want to miss. Also some of the characters were replaced by insignificant ones. The whole story lost its charm.
Please try the book and let me know if I was right or not.
A picture is equal to a thousand words . . .. but the meaning changes drastically. Hope you enjoy the book just the same. :D
You are damn crazy. The movie is so lame comparing to the book! They changed it allmost completely and had a lot of good parts removed. My friend who didn't read the book before seeing the movie said that the plot is confusing and hard to follow because the movie has a time limit and everything happens so fast. They changed characters, names, and the last cardinal was suppose to die and they made him live. I hated the movie.
@debbagain - The only thing I liked about the movie though was that they removed the romantic parts in the end and also the part with the helicopter. was better than the book because the part when Langdon jumped to the river was kind of dumb,
Oh, and casting Ewan McGregor for the Carlemengo was a good choice. He's a good actor and look sexy in the preist uniform, especially when he landed with the parachute and was all messy and wounded =)
Anyone whos read the book and seen the movie will tell you that the movie is a slap in the face to the book. Its so much better before the random things they changed for what reason I honestly don't know. This movie was a major disappointment to me. The book is great though
